What to Expect
Therapy begins with whakawhanaungatanga and an initial assessment. This is an opportunity for me to get to know you, your background, your whakapapa, and what has brought you to therapy.
Together, we will identify what you would like support with and what you would like to achieve through therapy - it’s ok if you’re not sure of the answer when you first arrive.
During our sessions, we may talk about what’s important to you and what gives you a sense of meaning and purpose. We will also talk about the challenges you are experiencing and how this might be affecting your life.
We may explore practical ways to solve problems, or cope with thoughts and feelings that are troubling you.
Some sessions will include a ‘plan of action’ or something you can take home and do in between sessions.
